My little slice of the U.S.A

In the midst of my absence, while I was cleaning, packing, list-making (a personal fav) and loving on my Mr. (Second fav.. I kid, I kid.) I noticed my house just a little bit more.

We bought this place in 2007, it's pretty old! And, it was pretty ragged super high gloss paint (full of lead) a bathroom with a sink that when too hot, dripped rust onto the floor. Speaking of the bathroom floor- pink. That is all I'll say about that.

But there were a few charmers that I've come to adore.

I'm sure 100% of my visitors have passed my garage and not noticed this lovely perched on top. I can not begin to tell you how many times I've contemplated climbing onto the roof there and ripping it off to put above my cabinet space in my kitchen. *Sigh* It's just- perfect. When we move- we're taking this.
Fo'Sho'
What? Oh, moving on.
When we had the walk through before signing, I told Mr. P, the realtor and my Mom the first thing to go where the doors in our house. The knobs, ew!

Fast forward 1 week after signing. They started to rub off on me. I didn't hate them, but I also didn't love them either. You know the drill. Some shiny silver spray paint. Voila! They add a little bit of charm to our oldie but goodie.
Oh if your wondering why on EARTH the screws weren't spray painted too, and um.. why the bottom one isn't screwed all the way in? Oh, well. This is actually the back of my master bedroom's door. I'll be real with you here. No one sees the back door. Hence why the un matching screws found their home there. :) And I didn't have it in me to fight with the bottom one more than a 30 seconds to realize it had won. It wont budge.
Ok, Ok...

Now, this is a little silly. But, this part of the house just recently got a one up into my favorites. It's located in our hallway going upstairs to the girls rooms. It's our attic door. BUT, for anyone who's seen Coraline- It's where the Other Mother lives.

We talk about it often, the LB1 and I. The fact that in the magical mind of my child we have a doorway to the Other Mothers realm makes me absolutely positively happy. But as you know with our Elf, and Leprechauns. I love to make believe with my children. Love. it.

It doesn't hurt that having buttons sewed on as eyes isn't on her list of priorities, and she wouldn't dare go in there- so it's the perfect spot for hiding Christmas Presents! :)
There you have it! The little charms that you, you and you wouldn't have even noticed! What things are in your home that make your heart flutter?

Mighty, Mighty Bee!

Wow, eventful week around here! Mr. P got to stay home to enjoy LB1 at school for "Daddy and Me day" So, I decided it best to take a break and enjoy some Mr. Bowchickawowwow...wait what? Um..

So, needless to say. I've got nothin'. Not a dang thing to talk about. I didn't do one single project (besides piles and piles of laundry- yes that's right! Go me!)

So, leaving you with some cuteness. LB2 decided she wanted to take everything out of the second shelf in our hallway closet- {you know, the 11:00 pm project I just haaaadd to do. The doors still aren't on and it's a mess? That's scratching off because I didn't sand? That looks like, CA-RAP? What? Yeah, that closet. :)}

Obviously I had a reason for the procrastination! It's her little cove now. When she wants her bubs, this is her snuggle place. Every day this happens.. And, look at that she some how stole LB1's "boo" How sweet.

Do you think I can just let her sleep here and put her crib on craigslist? I kid, I kid.

Happy Mothers Day!

*Those coming from Pretty Organized Palace, the dresser before/after is down at the bottom! Very late to the party, but I made it! Enjoy!*

Happy Mamas Day, to all you hot mamas out there! :) I hope you all got to rest and love on those babies that are so precious!

Well, I lived through the flu. It was HORRIBLE. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Well, maybe. But, no one I liked, that's for sure! The days home to rest helped, especially for today. The day that E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E, and their Mother (get it) goes out to eat. I'm one tired girl!

Speaking of work- a co-worker of mine's husband, who ALSO works with me... Asked if I'd help him come up with something for Mothers day for the Mrs. Well, since I started up my shop that has nothing in it, but a super cute banner- Fingerprints on the Fridge - I got to thinkin'. And, I thunk. And, thought some more.

What Mama doesn't love a frame? What Mama doesn't love hand made? What Mama doesn't love her child? I mean, wait what?
I came up with this lovely. For the record the heart is baby cakes Ariston's fingerprints. How cute right? I know- it is. :)

It's the same 12x12 frame I used in the love bugs hand print projects. It's so pretty! I added the scrapbook paper for the frame and did the writing by myself. I just might make one for Fathers day! Mr. P, you didn't hear read that.

Another project I worked on this week was this dresser.

I got a lot of comments on how cute it was, and I felt really bad because that was the before picture. I started to worry that maybe I shouldn't have painted it? Well, LB2's room is yellows blues turquoises etc. So, the blue works a lot better than the pink- A LOT. BETTER. I love it, it SCREAMS spring to me.

I also picked up some of these plastic plates from Meijer for her room, they're also going to be the prettiest blue in the world.

And, no I'm not above hanging plastic Easter plates on my child's wall as decor.

:)

A guest post.

Since I can't talk, and you know I need that to blog ;) I let LB1 decide what to post today. She can't spell very well so she drew it out for you. Enjoy.

Hello, My name is Rachelle, and I'm a hater.

I figured it out. I'm a hater. A Rachelle HATER. I have a few things to set up in my shop and this is what I did all day.

"It's ugly."

Mr.P- No its not, why do you say that?

"Because, it's ugly. I just said that"

Mr. P- your crazy.

"I can't take a good picture"

Mr.P- Your camera sucks

"I need a new one."

Mr. P- Your gonna do this all night aren't you?

Yes, Yes I am. I'll agree to show you TWO things I made today. They aren't on the shop, but I did set up my ETSY account, and ordered a banner/avatar set so by this weekend it will look cute. I told you I was freakin out. I also went to Joannes and Michael's to get some materials for the rest of the HUGE list I made.

I finished two things people. That's it. I'm pathetic! :) Tomorrow I plan to finish up some Tutu's and onesies. And, take some pictures of my bags- those went over well! Excited?

So, my deadline didn't work out like I planned but do you know what I learned? It's okay. Like my dear friend Kathy said- BREATH. I need to learn to BREATH. I worry to much. I hate on myself too much. It must stop! :)

Here's a teaser with the crappy camera.

My monogram plaque. It's very cute in person, lovely really. Purples, pinks greens and creams. Can be made simply as a plaque or a ribbon holder. Nice? Yes? :)

This is my FAVORITE. It's sooo cute! I love giraffe print and who woulda' known that turquoise looked so GOOD with it! Good for a boy or a girl. I think a little girl with a funky style would adore this! :) Obviously an initial would go on it. But you catch the drift :)

So- Let's go over what I did achieve by my deadline. Shop is semi set up.(littlefingerprints.etsy.com). Needs a banner. Made a million initial plaques. And have enough material to make a thousand tutus and enough ribbon for some FABULOUS bags. Yes, it's progress.
