Party Recap!

Wow! That was some party! With a total of 75 links- I'd say it was a great turnout! If you haven't went over to check it all out yet, run! We have some amazingly talented women out there. I hope you linked up too, and had your moment to shine!

Just a few of the deliciousness from this week.

Erin made herself a bed. Yes, a bed. I think it's BETTER than pottery barn!

Over at Holy Craft a front door mat was painted --pretty! Love how a cheap ol' mat can look so fab!

Jenni Juni (That's my name for her, she's kind of my home girl--;) knuckle pound JJ) wants you to look inside and tell us what you love about yourself.

Doehler days is ready for St. Patty's day with this AMAZING and easy print. I love it, and MUST make it.

And, the desk rehab that Crystal did, just too cute!

I loved everything! I wish I could give a shout out to you all, but then it'd be Friday all over again! :) Let's meet back here again next week and party it up some more!

I'd love to offer a giveaway with it so if any of you talented ladies out there want to sponsor one, email me and let me know! I'd love it and I know our guests would too! :)

How far along are we now? Second trimester? :) Really it's taken about two three weeks but I think it's pretty much done. I'll let you see for yourself. Let's have a mini recap shall we?
I've linked all the stages separately be sure to check them out for the how-to's! :)
Start..drab..boring..orthopedic looking waitress shoes..

Stage 5 Welcoming art

Something cozy welcome us home, we're done!
Let's see that before and After again
I'd still like a fabulous door to walk into the kitchen with, but that takes time and money. Both of which I don't have right now. :) But I adore my new entry way. I did it myself (besides some saw help from B.D) Surprised husband with my talents, and gave the girls a place where they can forget to put their snow gear. I love it.
Don't forget to come on over for my first blog party-- Feature Yourself Friday!

Guest Post from The Girl Creative!

Okay readers I have some fun for you today! Diana @ The Girl Creative is taking over the blog today! Let's be all the super commenters that we are and leave her LOTS of love! She deserves it, this girl's got some talent!

Hello Fingerprints on the Fridge fans! It's Diana from The Girl Creative and I'm so excited to be swapping blogs with Rachelle today. Her blog became a quick favorite of mine as soon as I happened across it. She's super funny and sweet and talented too. She's blogging over at my place today so I hope you'll stop by and give her some moral support. It's always nice to see some familiar faces.

I am a Jesus lovin' mom to 2 of the funniest little girls ever, Emilee and Grace. I'm married to my best bud, Tim, for 7 years and we also have an insane dog named Buster who just adds to the chaos that is our life. I've been blogging for a few years but The Girl Creative is my most recent adventure. Every Monday I host a linky party called Just Something I Whipped Up where my readers show off their most recent creations. Occasionally I post digital scrapbook freebies as well as blogging secrets and tips. I also offer custom blog design and a la cart services. Most of the time, though, you can find projects that I've worked on that turned out decent enough to share. lol

Here are a few of my favorite projects to date:

This is a wreath I made for Valentine's Day using an old wire hanger and some scrap fabric and ribbon.

Would you believe that this is an old DVD case? This project was super, super easy. I did it in my kitchen while cooking dinner. Took all but 10 minutes.

I had an adorable pillowcase dress that was too small for my girls so I turned it into 2 aprons, one for each of my girls.

A trip to the dollar store and a little imagination gave me these personalized boards for my daughter's room. This is quite possibly my favorite project to date. I love how they came out.

I took a tutorial I found for a burlap wreath at Craftaholics Annonymous and made it my own by adding fabric.

Thank you so much for letting me share a small part of my world with you. I hope you stop by and visit from time to time. We'd love to have you.

Thank you, Rachelle, for swapping blogs with me. I had so much fun!

Little addition

I was overjoyed to have this little addition pop up out of no where. Well, teqnically it wasn't out of no where. It was tucked nicely in one of the end caps at Target. 50% OFF!

Um, what addition did you think I was talking about? :)

I love it! So beachy, and bright! Reminds me how much I miss summer! Hurry up and leave winter- shoo!

I may still find another pillow for here, I had something in mind and I'm not sure if I'm ready to give it up. But I do enjoy the blue and red combo! Like red checkered picnic blankets and blue skies! I can almost taste the lemonade, smell the hot dogs on the grill and hear the fireworks!

Just what I needed during this late February Michigan snow storm we're in the middle of! :)

Basket? What basket?

Silly me. When I purchased these Pottery Barn look alike baskets I accidentally got the invisible version.

Duh, Rachelle.

So for the sake of my sanity and so everyone could lose every little reason for not putting their gloves, mittens, shoes, hats, keys, mail, school to dos, in the right spot. Tags are the answer, and by tags I mean totally free and easy tags. I had a vision in my head and wasn't sure how to make it work. I knew I wanted mini chalkboards. But HOW? It hit me as I was making my key art.

I spray painted glass, can I spray paint cardboard? Yes, yes you can. I started by cutting small rectangle tags.

If I were Martha Stewart I'd make sure they were all the same size. But, guess what I'm not and they aren't. I'm okay with that- you should be too. The cardboard soaked up the paint like a sponge so I did a few coats.

Once it dried overnight (can't be too careful) I rubbed chalk all over them, this helps so that your words don't "stick" or so I hear.

If you're going to use thicker cardboard like I did here make sure you use the smoother side for your writing. With this particular kind it had slight ridges on one side. See?

The other side was much less noticeable, if you want to avoid this completely you could use a thin piece, something like a cereal box. :) I used what I had on hand, and it worked out pretty well.

So-- I could have stopped there and been blissfully happy with them, but I had to add a little warmth to them. Using some more left over burlap, I cut rectangles slightly bigger than the "chalkboards" and hot glued them together.

Oh, no no no it doesn't stop there! A little jute to string it on and it's perfect. I pushed a pen through the fabric to make a little hole for the twine to fit through. Easy peasy!

I love them!

Mr. P loves them because they were free.

Sometimes you just have to look around and the missing puzzle piece to finish a project is right in front of you! What free things can you come up with to spice up your life!?

Don't forget this Thursday at 10, Feature Yourself Friday party! Link up whatever post you feels features how FABULOUS you are. We all want to see what amazing projects you've got going on!
