Entryway bench redo

Keeping with the entryway theme from yesterday I thought I’d share a few other things we did to spruce up our mini-mudroom.

Let’s first take a trip down memory lane shall we?

We shall.

I wanted to step out of the box a little and say goodbye to my comfort zone. So when I saw this brown and cream zebra print fabric at the store I thought of what I could do with it and boom. I never really loved the painters drop cloth fabric that was previously on it and since it was still in my color scheme I figured, what the hell. Lets try it.

So my partner in crime stayed up late one night to help me out. :) What’s hotter than a guy sewing buttons on a bench? Not much I tell you.

The best way I’ve found to add buttons and some really great tufting is to knot them, and staple them away. Like my little love note from the first time we built the bench? Funny.

Glorious Tufts

I also found some pretty placemats at Target months ago and my wonderful Momma made some pillows for me. Love the blue. They match the backpack hooks. :)

Blue and zebra, careful people.. We’re gettin’ crazy around these parts.
