Creating a Kids Baking-Carry-all Gift

“This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Rubbermaid Bento Organizers but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #HolidayBento http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO”

So when I was asked to do a little somethin’ somethin’ with the Rubbermaid Bento Organizers I was really excited because I actually already use these little slices of heaven in my home! But I wanted to come up with something new for Christmas gifts that would incorporate them AND be a fun gift to get besides.. well.. a box with dividers. Though, useful– isn’t always the biggest WOW gift- right? Right? So I came up with something for a little girl or boy who 1.) Could always use a place to put trinkets, can I get an amen? and 2.) Would be fun enough to open as a gift.

So I thought about what my kids like to do– bake. What a fun thing for them to have their own mini-baking station! So I set off to Target to buy a Rubbermaid Bento Organizer and some fun little baking items. Imagine my delight when I could find MINI (think: Kid sized) goodies.. Mini cookie cutters and mini spatulas. I die.

I also got a really cute ornament because, I just couldn’t resist– glitter and pink. Two of my favorite things.

And, the rest is the easiest part ever– throw it all in the bento box and tie-er-up with string! Now, as a gift I would probably give a box of cookie mix with this but I know sometimes box mixes strike a cord with some people– you could always send a homemade jar of cookie mix y’all.. and everything would be right in the world. If you’re like me– send the box. ;) And their mom will thank you for not only giving a CREATIVE gift that just keeps giving, but one that will keep the clutter at a minimum because you gave the box to clean it up with too! The cool part about these Bento boxes are that the insides can be shifted to make room for whatever you are putting in it.

Other ideas for Christmas in a box gifts–

Bubble bath, candle, soap, loofa

Mani/Pedi set

Rainbow Loom bands (and all their million, trillion pieces)

The possibilities are endless and because Rubbermaid has so many different sizes for the bento boxes, you can go as little or as big as you’d like! I love that! Plus– this week they’re on sale (score!) and there’s a coupon code so you can get 1.00 Off at Target!

So instead of giving a gift in some box that anyone could just toss away after the gift is given, maybe– try out a Bento box that just keeps giving! I’m excited enough about these that I’m ready to give ALL my gifts in reusable boxes!

Merry Christmas!

Organizing Planet Barbie Land

“This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Home Depot & Rubbermaid, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #AllAccessOrganizers http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.”

So here’s the thing.. (Don’t you love it when posts start out with that.. I know I do.. haha) I’ve been stealing things from the playroom and putting them elsewhere.. Like the curtains (now in the dining room) The map (Now in the entry way) the rugs (Downstairs) Who would have thought? So we’ve been on the look out for a huge fluffy rug the girls like and some new curtains, but we also spent TWO DAYS and by we I mean me, cleaning out and organizing all their CRAP. Because that’s what it is. How two girls can accumulate 5 bags worth of trash in one tiny room I’ll never know, and the child who wont admit to having a liking for cutting up tiny tiny bits of paper and putting them in bowls to make soup– well.. I’ll find out who you are, woman.

Anyway, so they’re getting older– we took the kitchen out and they mostly play school, office, and barbies. Oh and makeup. But barbies is a HUGE deal for them. At my mother in laws house she has a room dedicated to it for them– barbie land. Well we tried to make our own barbie land here, with a GIANT house and approx 13,001 barbies. It was out of control. We didn’t have a basket or bin big enough for the barbies and they’d end up on the floor every day.

Christmas barbie was always judging..quietly.

IMG_6344

Then when we found these handy things from the Home Depot I knew it would be perfect because the girls have little to no effort when it comes to putting them away!

IMG_6347

My kids are lazy y’all. If it involves putting them neatly anywhere or having to be careful, it wont happen. This way– with the All Access Organizers from Rubbermaid they shove them in since they still open from the front when stacked unlike a lot of totes that you open from the top (but don’t worry they do that too! Magical.) I don’t step on a barbie shoe and we’re all happy. Even Christmas Barbie.

IMG_6350

I bought 4 bins total, these two smaller ones, which I think are still plenty big enough and two bigger ones for their bedroom, I thought that it would be perfect for uniform clothes in the fall– since they stack so neatly they’ll both be able to get to their OWN pants/skirts/shorts/skorts with ease and we should have a lot less fighting and whining at 7:00 am. Can I get a hallelujah? But that in itself will be a job going through the never ending amount of uniforms.. Thank the lord we still have a month left!

If you’re out and about at Home Depot I highly suggest checking these Rubbermaid products out. They’re super affordable and they’ve made our lives MUCH easier. And, I think they might be sparking a complete room overhaul… you’ll just have to wait and see ;) I think the organizing is getting to my head.. watch out people. This is only the beginning ;)

Celebrate game day with Rubbermaid from Target!

With football season in full swing and the Superbowl right around the corner one of my favorite things comes to mind.

Food.

More so, finger food.

Wings..Dips..Brownies..Mini sandwiches, you know–the works. Besides of course being around family, and friends that’s probably my favorite thing about the Superbowl.. And the commercials. ;)

When I saw Target had online coupons for some Rubbermaid Take Alongs I was all over it. You can never have too many food storage containers, especially if you’re like me and end up always leaving them at the party. Whoops!

They have a ton of different sizes, from SUPER big, to nice and small.

I picked up the deep square ones and some of the medium rectangle containers. Perfect for the items I bring.

Chili dip and brownies.

Yum!

My favorite thing about these Rubbermaid Take Along containers are how tight the lids snap. Even if you drop them, not that I have…ahem. The lids didn’t pop off at all. And, when you’re carrying chili dip– that’s a heaven sent. They’re also really affordable (under $5.00 for each set I got.. Plus the coupon!) so when you do accidentally leave them at the party, you’re not out a ton of money or a  sentimental storage dish that your grandmother passed down to you and really get mad at yourself. Not that I’ve uh, done that either.

So the snacks are made.. Just waiting on some football and friends!

Oh.. Pst! Want to know something else?!
